A revisit of school lunch in Thaialnd

Hello, thank all of you to come here waiting for me to say someting. Today's topic that I wish to address is about school lunch in Thailand, which we need to do something about it. Few weeks back, I had a chance to visit France. I was invited to visit an elementary school there, being briefed with information on their school lunch program, especially on food nutrition.

What I've learned from French school lunch are as follows. Firstly, more than 8o% of elementary schools serve part of their food from organic sources. Secondly, there is one day in a week that meal is completely vegetarian. Thirdly, schools are required to develop tools to measure the amount of waste and to public a plan to combat it.

I choose to highlight today regarding food program in school because of, as you may be aware, the recent news concering complaints over poor quality in Thai school lunch program. I view that this is the immidiate problem to our kids. How can our kids grow mentally and physiclly if they cannot access to good quality of food? I've instructed all governors all over the country to monitor to every school lunch in their provinces. And I will use school lunch model in Franch as a starting point to improve Thai school lunch program.

French school lunch is one of the models that I think it is practical and easy to apply to the Thai environment. We must act now for the future of our young generation and toward the sustainable development.
